What can we learn from the world of doughnut economics and community wealth building, and how can we apply it locally? From intsitutional pledges to buy local to research into the impact of doing so.

Idea #4. Added by Izzy Sargent | 5 days ago

Can we form a community doughnut economics group to produce DE-style valuations of proposals and decisions in the city?

For instance, produce a series of estimates (a dashboard) of the social foundations and planetary boundaries for each proposal being considered at the Toys R Us site.

Great idea. I wonder if this should be posted as it's own challenge ...

How to we create transformative change that creates jobs, wealth, housing and infrastructure within Southampton without requiring external developers, who will extract value from the city?

For example, the redevelopment of the Toys R Us site should wholly benefit people in Southampton.
