Recovering AI researcher, now working at the intersection of Science, Society and Public Policy

I'm a Chartered Scientist with more than 25 years research experience using geospatial data and neural networks to understand land and ocean environments. Realising that we already know enough to know that we need to make some very big changes, I have refocused onto the interactions between science, society and public policy, particularly regarding issues of climate and social justice. I recently completed a masters in public administration to understand how knowledge is - and is not - applied to public decision making, such as policy for climate or AI. I'm now exploring options for research and practice in representing under- and unheard voices in decision-making and strengthening community cohesion during good and hard times.
