Our online community voted on seven projects. From these, four were selected. Now, we’re turning to you - can you join a team and help bring one of these projects to life?
Cowes High Street is vibrant during the sailing season but becomes quiet and underutilised in the off-season, often failing to meet the needs of the broader, year-round local community.
How might we preserve Cowes High Street’s unique maritime identity while reimagining it as a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming space that serves the whole community throughout the year?
Residents in coastal communities like Hamble want to buy or produce local but they don't (because it's not visible, accessible or coordinated). This limits their ability to be 'sustainable' *.
How might we make local food and food producers more visible and accessible in coastal communities?
* Sustainable = resilient, commercially viable, self-sufficient
Public transport in Hampshire has become fragmented and unreliable, with reduced county-level support and no accessible, integrated timetable system. This leaves communities feeling frustrated and underserved.
How might we turn fragmented transport data into something useful, usable and empowering for local communities?
Parking on verges, roads and pavements is making the village of Copythorne look unattractive. This also creates safety risks for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
How might we create a village environment where everyone can move safely and easily - whether walking, cycling or driving - while protecting the natural character and beauty of the area?
