The Challenge
Environmental monitoring data is presented, recorded, and shared in different ways across organisations, leading to variable accessibility and standards.
This challenge aims to review best practice in data presentation, recording, and real‑time monitoring to inform a more consistent and scalable approach.
The work could focus on:
- Reviewing best practice from Rivers Trusts across the UK on data presentation and recording
- Reviewing best practice in real‑time monitoring made available online
- Examples include water company data portals and the Environment Agency’s Hydrology Data Explorer
- Identifying approaches that could be adopted more widely
- Assessing suitability across different rivers and catchments
Timeframe
Medium‑term – approximately 12 months
