Ethical AI for Everyone

Instigated and coordinated by Hampshire County Council, the AI Growth Alliance is an ambitious new partnership dedicated to building a thriving, inclusive artificial intelligence (AI) economy and skills ecosystem across Hampshire and the Solent region.

Backed by leading colleges, universities, employers, and civic organisations—including the South Coast Institute of Technology—this alliance is working together to ensure our region plays a central role in the UK’s AI revolution.

Our mission is clear: to help more people—from all backgrounds—gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in an AI-driven world. Whether through education, innovation, or career development, we’re building a connected network where learners, educators, and employers collaborate to unlock new opportunities.

Aims

  • Establish a Catalyst for AI-driven Transformation
    A regional powerhouse driving innovation and leadership in artificial intelligence, with strong collaboration between academia, industry, and Government.
  • Accelerate AI Adoption Across Sectors
    The leading regional platform for advancing responsible AI innovation, fostering talent, and enabling impactful partnerships. Supporting businesses, specifically Micros and SMEs in integrating AI technologies to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and resilience.
  • Develop a Skilled and Inclusive Workforce
    An innovation-led alliance at the forefront of AI research, application, and sustainable growth. Building robust talent pipelines through AI training, bootcamps, apprenticeships, and career transition programmes, with a focus on inclusivity and diversity.
  • Foster Innovation and Infrastructure
    A collaborative ecosystem championing AI excellence, regional prosperity, and global competitiveness. Driving collaborative R&D, supporting funding bids, and developing essential AI infrastructure such as data-sharing platforms, power, data centres and digital connectivity.
  • Promote Responsible AI and Attract Investment
    The region’s focal point for AI innovation, bridging research, industry, and policy, while raising the region’s profile to attract investment and encourage AI companies to establish a local presence.
