Water Resources Management Specialist and a Director of the Upper Itchen Restoration Community Interest Company
I am an irrigation and water resources management specialist with over 40 years experience working mainly overseas in some 32 countries. I have worked in a variety of organisations including a large consultancy firm, in the University of Southampton's Institute of Irrigation and Development Studies, as a co-owner and Director of a small consultancy company and as an independent consultant working mainly for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN. I have written over 50 journal and conference papers, as well as a book on "Irrigation Management: Principles and Practices". I have been engaged with water related activities in Hampshire since 2003 when I joined the Hampshire Water Partnership as a volunteer. I subsequently organised four Hampshire Water Festivals in Romsey and then Havant, and was Director of the HWP from 2007-8. I was a Trustee of the Vitacress Conservation Trust for several years and an active member of the Upper Itchen Initiative. I am currently a co-founder and Director of the Upper Itchen Restoration Community Interest Company based around Alresford.
