Dr. John Flackett is a distinguished Artificial Intelligence educator, speaker, advisor, and consultant. Working in AI for 30 years and achieving his PhD in Artificial Intelligence in 2005, John’s ground-breaking AI research in the mid-1990s aided in the early understanding of the AI techniques and algorithms used today by the best-known large language models. John has made significant contributions to the field and is a recognised leader in the AI community. He was recently awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science in recognition of his contributions to Artificial Intelligence and education. John is the Co-founder and Head of AiLab (Artificial Intelligence Laboratory), an international company with offices in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. AiLab provides AI training programs, research and advisory services across all industries and sectors, helping organisations become AI-ready. As an AI educator, John leads the development and delivery of AiLab workshops and supervises AI PhD students. John is proud to have helped thousands of people around the globe learn about AI and is dedicated to guiding organisations through their AI journey. Before founding AiLab, John spent a decade as a senior academic teaching AI and software engineering at both undergraduate and master's levels at Southampton Solent University.
