Join us on 14th February 2025, for the Future Towns Innovation Hub (FTIH) Challenge Day at the University of Southampton.
This event will bring together 40 visionaries, including place-leaders, businesses and residents, to forge a bold vision for transforming places in the region.
Our focus will be on “Creating a better world for everyone", with an emphasis on five themes:
-
Sustainable development: Embrace regenerative practices, renewable energy and blue-green infrastructure to promote resource efficiency and positive environmental impact.
-
Smart mobility: Explore cutting-edge transportation technologies such as autonomous and electric vehicles, smart public transport and micro-mobility solutions to reduce congestion and improve community connectivity.
-
Digital connectedness: Leverage data analytics, AI, IoT and smart technologies to enhance public service management and community engagement.
-
Community wellbeing and inclusivity: Foster social equity and improve access to healthcare, education and recreation to enrich the lives of all residents.
-
Place-based innovation and entrepreneurship: Support startups and businesses focused on local innovation through incubators, accelerators, and funding, while promoting collaboration among public, private, and third-sector organisations.
This event is more than just discussions; it’s about generating actionable outcomes with 'quick wins' and 'great projects' that FTIH will help bring to life through our innovation process.
The innovative ideas from the Challenge Day will be showcased widely in February and March 2025.
