Example Challenge: How Can We Design a Zero-Waste Community?
Transitioning to a zero-waste community is vital for reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable living. However, achieving this goal requires innovative approaches to waste reduction, resource reuse, and community engagement.
We’re looking for ideas to:
- Develop systems that minimize waste generation at the source, such as circular economy models or refill initiatives.
- Increase participation in recycling and composting programs through better design, education, or incentives.
- Create spaces and services that encourage repair, sharing, and upcycling of goods.
- Foster a cultural shift toward sustainable behaviors and practices within the community.
Success means building a community where waste is significantly reduced, resources are continually reused, and sustainable practices are embedded in everyday life. How can we collaborate to make this vision a reality?
