Creating happy, healthy, and prosperous places requires bold ideas and innovative solutions. A place-based accelerator can play a key role in nurturing innovators and entrepreneurs who are working toward this vision. However, defining the right support structures is crucial to their success.

We’re seeking ideas to:
- Identify the types of resources, mentorship, and training that would best support innovators and entrepreneurs.
- Explore accessible activities to foster cross-sector collaboration and partnerships through the accelerator.
- Develop strategies to attract and retain talent with a passion for creating sustainable, impactful solutions.
- Ensure that the accelerator is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the unique challenges and opportunities of the place it serves.

The aim is to design an accelerator program that empowers changemakers and drives transformative impact in communities. What support mechanisms and approaches are essential for achieving this?

Helping local entrepreneurs to thrive requires a combination of practical resources, funding, skills and community support. Here's a few ideas:

1. Focus on local strengths: Help businesses based on what the community is good at eg: farming, food, tech or art?
2. Create supportive spaces: Set up co-working spaces where people can work together, share skills and ideas. Connect them with mentors who can offer guidance.
3. Provide money & resources: Offer grants, small loans and investment funds to help businesses grow. Support crowdfunding so other people can pitch in to fund good ideas.
4. Encourage learning & creativity: Teach business skills and support people from all backgrounds, especially those who face extra challenges.
5. Make things easier: Reduce unnecessary paperwork to make starting a business faster and easier.
